Neurodiversity-affirming therapy, assessment and support

What We Do
At the Neurodiversity Center of Princeton, we are dedicated to providing compassionate support and affirming care for neurodivergent individuals and their families. Our services include:
-
Therapy: We offer strengths-based therapy that flexibly incorporates techniques and content specific to the challenges neurodivergent individuals often face. Clients are empowered to collaboratively define their own therapy goals based on their needs, rather than setting goals based on neurotypical milestones or behavioral compliance.

-
Assessment: We offer comprehensive assessments to help identify personal strengths and challenges, providing clarity to guide support, personal growth, and decision making.

-
Community: We foster connection through inclusive community programs, including support groups and forums, creating safe spaces where individuals and families can build relationships and share resources.

-
Consulting: Our consultants provide expert advice to schools, workplaces, and organizations, helping to create environments where neurodivergent people can thrive.

What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is the concept that differences in human brain function, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, are natural, normal variations rather than deficits or disorders. It emphasizes that there is no single "right" way for a brain to think, learn, or behave, promoting acceptance of diverse cognitive styles.

What Neurodiversity Is Not:

-
A Disease or Disorder: It is not a medical issue
that needs to be "cured". -
A "Faulty" Brain: It is not a broken or inferior way
of thinking, but simply a different one. -
Just One Condition: It is not limited to autism,
but encompasses a range of variations like ADHD,
dyslexia, and others. -
A Uniform Concept: It is not a "one-size-fits-all" term,
as individuals have unique strengths and challenges.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Care
Neurodiversity-affirming care emphasizes acceptance and support for individual strengths and needs, prioritizing autonomy and collaboration, moving away from compliance-based methods.

Why We Exist
Neurodiversity Is Central to Our Mission.
We focus on understanding people beyond labels. Every neurodivergent individual deserves recognition for their entire self, not just a diagnosis.
Navigating support for neurodivergence is often confusing and fragmented.
People are left overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure what to do next.
We bring it together—so you can understand yourself (or your child) and move forward with confidence.
Our goal is simple: to help you function better, feel more understood, and build a life that works for you—at home, in school, and at work.
